Care for Cottons
Browsed the website thoroughly, picked out the outfit you loved and it fits you like a dream! Now it’s time to treat her like the special beauty she is and learn the best way to care for your cottons. We recommend dry cleaning for all our products as it ensures best results. But if you’re a DIY person, read on!
The fabric always tells the best way to wash. Dyed cottons like hand-block prints and cut-work embroidered cottons need to be hand-washed separately as they tend to bleed colour. Pieces with embroidery or sequins need to be washed very carefully to avoid damaging the handwork. On the other hand, mul cottons are too thin for a hard wash, hence hand-washing is the best option. As a rule of thumb for all cottons, hand-wash ensures the longest life.
Water and detergent
For any cotton, the best combination is cold, soft water and mild detergent only. Hot water tends to fade colours and shrink cottons, leaving you with the wrong fit. Harsh soaps and detergents can damage the fabric, and if used too much, leave stains that will be a pain to remove. Always measure everything!
Resist the temptation to leave the clothes in the machine, because you can end up with a smelly, damp pile and an unnecessary extra wash. Dry the outfits in the shade (direct sunlight can shrink cottons and fade colours) and hang the dyed cottons separately to avoid staining each other.
Finishing touch to restore that new glow – a hot press before you head out!
